This is a heavy duty, larger-format wallet designed for the back pocket of a pair of jeans.  It will hold 8 to 12 credit cards, two or three in each of the four pockets.  You can also tuck a few banknotes in the rear pocket.

It is made from Classic Rocado shell cordovan in natural, unglazed form, and will develop a beautiful patina as you wear it.  See below for a description of the leather.

It is fully hand stitched with Dunmore Bonded Nylon 66, Size 138.  This is a twisted nylon thread, perfect for a wallet as it is very strong and has excellent abrasion resistance.

The edges have been hand finished with progressively finer grades of sandpaper, applications of burnishing compound and final buffing with waxes and a canvas cloth.  This finish is very durable and is easily maintained.

Approximate size when closed is 4” wide x 5-3/8” high and when opened 8-1/16” wide x 5-3/8” high.

About this leather:

Rocado Shell Cordovan is an exceptionally rare horse leather, vegetable tanned in Tuscany by master artisans devoted to the preservation of time-honored craft.  Slowly tanned, carefully nourished and meticulously finished, it possesses remarkable strength, supple resilience and a dense, almost silken hand.

Beneath the fingers, its surface feels smooth, substantial and taut, yielding with quiet flexibility as it moves. Color appears to emanate from within rather than sit upon the surface, while a deep, liquid luster gathers the light in a soft glow before resolving into an almost mirror-like reflection. Rocado is especially prized for its breadth of color and finish: the clear radiance of Classic, the smoky, stratified depth of Museum, the dramatic movement of Marbled.

Over time, its color deepens and becomes more resonant, while repeated contact burnishes the surface to an increasingly rich polish. Each piece ultimately acquires a singular patina—an evolving record of touch, movement and age, and a visible testament to the craftsmanship invested in its making.
