This is a heavy duty, larger-format wallet designed for the back pocket of a pair of jeans. It will hold 8 to 12 credit cards, two or three in each of the four slots. You can also tuck a few banknotes in the rear pocket.
It is made from Horween Dublin leather in the color Brown Nut and will develop a beautiful patina as you wear it. See below for a description of this leather.
The wallet is hand stitched with Black 0.8mm Ritza Tiger thread made by Julius Koch in Germany. This is a braided polyester thread, very strong and resistant to sunlight and aging. It also has excellent abrasion resistance.
The edges have been hand stained, and hand finished with progressively finer grades of sandpaper, applications of burnishing compound and final buffing with waxes and a canvas cloth. This finish is very durable and is easily maintained.
Approximate size when closed is 4” wide x 5-3/8” high and when opened 8-1/16” wide x 5-3/8” high.
About this leather:
Horween Dublin is a premium, full-grain cowhide leather, vegetable tanned in Chicago using the same traditional tanning extracts developed for Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan®. Created from Horween’s celebrated Essex tannage and enriched with a generous wax finish, Dublin possesses a substantial yet supple hand, pronounced natural grain and richly varied pull-up.
Its surface readily records movement, scratches and handling, giving each piece an honest and evolving character from the outset. As the waxes shift and the leather is polished through use, its color grows deeper and the grain develops a warm, glowing patina of exceptional depth.
