One-Slot Card Holder - La Bretagna Invecchiato

This minimalist card holder is sized to hold up to four or five cards – great for those occasions when you won’t be needing your regular full-size wallet or you have limited pocket or purse space.

It is made with Invecchiato leather in the color Tan, from the renowned La Bretagna tannery in Tuscany, Italy.  See below for a description of this leather.

It is fully hand stitched with Dunmore Bonded Nylon 66, Size 138.  This is a twisted nylon thread, perfect for a card holder as it is very strong and has excellent abrasion resistance.

The edges have been hand stained, and hand finished with progressively finer grades of sandpaper, applications of burnishing compound and final buffing with waxes and a canvas cloth.  This finish is very durable and is easily maintained.

About this leather:

La Bretagna Invecchiato is an iconic Tuscan vachetta leather, first developed in 1967 and still produced by the Testi family using the tannery’s traditional slow vegetable-tanning methods.  The full-grain cowhides are gently milled to awaken a fine, softly pebbled texture, then individually stained by hand over a natural base to create delicate contrasts and an unmistakable two-tone, marbled character.

Finally ironed and hand buffed, the surface acquires an elegant gloss while preserving the subtle movement of its natural grain.  Richly colored and quietly structured, Invecchiato becomes softer and more nuanced with handling, developing a deep, luminous patina that embodies the history and enduring character for which La Bretagna is celebrated.
