Money Clip Wallet - Leder Ogawa Shell Cordovan

This money clip wallet has four card slots and a Black PVD-coated solid brass money clip for banknotes.  It can hold eight to ten cards with ease, along with up to 30 folded banknotes under the clip.  It excels as a front-pocket wallet.

It is made from an exquisite shell cordovan, hand crafted piece by piece by Leder Ogawa in Japan.  The color of this wallet is Garnet, and it will develop a beautiful patina as you wear it.  See below for a description of this leather.

The wallet is fully hand stitched with 0.6 and 0.75 mm Vinymo MBT thread from Japan.  This is a twisted polyester thread, perfect for a wallet as it is very strong and resistant to sunlight and aging.  It also has very good abrasion resistance.

The edges have been hand finished with progressively finer grades of sandpaper, applications of burnishing compound and final buffing with waxes and a canvas cloth.  This finish is very durable and is easily maintained.

Approximate size when closed is 3” wide x 4-7/16” high and when opened 3” wide x 8” high.

Leder Ogawa shell cordovan is an exceptionally refined Japanese leather, traditionally tanned with mimosa tannins and meticulously finished by skilled artisans. Beneath the hand, its surface feels dense, smooth and quietly resilient—supple yet firm, with the cool, almost glass-like tension of a polished stone. Light travels across it in a deep, liquid sheen, gathering in the leather’s subtle contours before dissolving into a soft, burnished glow. Its remarkable clarity and layered color create an impression of depth beneath the surface, as though warm tones were suspended within the hide rather than simply applied to it. The luster is rich but restrained, glowing from within instead of flashing harshly.

Exceptionally durable yet graceful, the leather responds slowly and beautifully to use. With handling, its surface becomes warmer and more yielding, while the color deepens into darker, more complex tones. Fine variations in sheen emerge across the grain, and the once-pristine polish settles into a mellow, tactile patina that records every touch, fold and movement.
