Mini Horizontal Snap Card Holder - Tarano Valdibrana

This card holder is sized to hold up to six to eight cards.  It closes with a robust, solid brass line snap made by Hasi-Hato in Japan.  Sized small but with considerable carrying capacity, it easily carries folded banknotes too.

It is made with Valdibrana vachetta leather in the color Olive Green, from the world-renowned Tarano tannery in Tuscany, Italy.  See below for a description of this leather.

It is fully hand stitched with 0.6mm Vinymo MBT thread from Japan.  This is a twisted polyester thread, perfect for a card holder as it is very strong and resistant to sunlight and aging.  It also has very good abrasion resistance.

The edges have been hand finished with progressively finer grades of sandpaper, applications of burnishing compound and final buffing with waxes and a canvas cloth.  This finish is very durable and is easily maintained.

About this leather:

Tarano Valdibrana is a distinguished full-grain, cowhide vachetta leather, traditionally vegetable tanned in a multigenerational family tannery in Tuscany.  Finished with transparent aniline dyes and nourished with tallow, natural oils and waxes, it retains the hide’s honest grain, supple touch and softly resilient medium temper.  Its surface feels smooth yet alive beneath the hand, with fine natural variation that reveals the careful work of both artisan and tannery.

Its rich color carries gentle shifts in tone, along with the occasional mark or grain change that gives each hide its individual character.  As it is handled, the leather grows more pliant and velvety, its color slowly warming and deepening beneath the burnish of daily use.  Over time, Tarano develops a soft, luminous patina—an evolving record of touch, wear and craftsmanship that makes every finished piece uniquely personal.
